Charming, with loads of character and flavor, Prosser is a tranquil community along the Yakima River offering its residents safety and privacy of living in the country. Situated in a lush agricultural landscape with wineries, family-owned farms, and orchards, and beautifully preserved architecture in Prosser’s charming downtown. Prosser was selected as the Benton County seat in 1905 and is located approximately 25 miles from the Tri-Cities, Washington area.

Prosser is the birthplace of Washington wine. Washington State University Irrigated Agricultural Research Extension Center has been located in Prosser since 1919, and the research done at this center is vast. Dr. Walter Clore was instrumental in the birth of the Washington wine industry. Today, The Walter Clore Wine & Culinary Center is dedicated in his honor. Prosser is a wine lover’s destination, being home to over 30 wineries, and has a big following of wine enthusiasts.
